New telephone scam - UK Financials

There's a new telephone scam people should be aware of. An Inidan call centre (typical of the old Microsoft scams) calling for a company called Uk Financials who represent the Finanical Services Authority in relation to Payment Protection Insurance. I have spoken to the FSA and they don't have any relations to this company and would never cold call people.

I think you would have to very naive to fall for such scams but there are still many people who don't understand how they work so do please let your less savvy friends know to be extra cautious.

Another scam - UK finance organisation

Sad to say there is a new phone scam service from an Indian call centre.

"UK Finance organisation" ring up and say that they can get your bank charges back for the last 4 years. Before they tell you how much money you are owed they need to take you through a verification process. At this stage I got bored and ask them to tell me how much cash was due before I verify anything.

Oddly, they then ask if i am over 70, I told them I was, and they promptly said they will put everything in writing and hungup.

Quite odd - dont fall for these horrible scams.
