I recieved the postcard today, entered the pin number, and........
It didnt work! Tried it a few times and then had to order a new pin which will arrive in 2-3 weeks.
Not very impressed to be honest.
Have been busy getting Made Me Look up and running full time and one element of that is getting listed on Google Places. In the Uk you get sent a postcard with a pin number which you use to verify you are who you say you are.

I am pleased that a new site created by Made Me Look has now gone live. www.hopesupport.org.uk
Hope support young people in Herefordshire who have a relative with a life threatening illness. This was designed within Weebly to enable the staff at Hope to easily maintain and update the site with no specilaist knowledge. We have also set up a couple of social media iniatives to help spread the word about Hope: www.twitter.com/hope_support and www.facebook.com/hopesupport www.madeourday.co.uk is my vehicle for digital video events - whether it be a wedding, a reunion, a school fair, or any kind of party. Event goers take video clips and still images during the day and then upload to a secure area on the made our day website. I then download and "make the day".
I have just completed a wedding sample which seemed to go down well and you can take a look here... http://www.madeourday.co.uk/samples.html A new microsite from Made Me Look for a global business training company - FKB Training who are also based in Ross on Wye. This was relatively straight forward as the customer wanted a simple landing place to direct people to when networking.
www.fkbtraining.com Yesterday I spent a day at Ashfield Park Primary School in Ross on Wye working with 4 pupils of different ages. Together we filmed 4 methods of multiplication that are used as a standard across the school. The purpose of the films were to enable parents at home to see directly how their children were taught in school. When it comes to homework time we should aim to achieve the same approach that the children acheive at school. If the feedback of the multiplication project is good we will look to extend to covering division, addition and subtraction and even some literacy topics.
I am delighted the school has embraced technology to improve communication with parents and the wider communty and it certainly seems to be having a good effect. You can see the results of the work at http://www.ashfieldpark.org/curriculum-blog.html I am currently adding more info onto the site about the kind of stuff I can deliver. With a passion for technology used creatively with kids, I am pleased to have a new training course page up and live at http://www.mademelook.co.uk/training-courses-for-schools.html
All of the tools listed are ones I have worked with over the last 7 years and are engaging, exciting and educational. I can offer classroom based, INSET, and one to one training, And of course all of this for individuals too who might want to get their creative juices flowing. I recently got my hands on a nice shiny new laptop which meant I had transfer my emails from my Outlook client to my new Windows 7 Windows Live client - what a nightmare for such a supposedly simple task!
The best explanation I found was deep in a page at : http://www.sevenforums.com/browsers-mail/10497-importing-mail-outlook-windows-live-mail.html Here is the step by step I have editted after my experiences Download & install Mailstore Home from Mailstore.com 1) Use Mailstore to read all or part of my Outlook email. 2) Export to "File System" using the eml format 3) Export to a directory such as C:\temp\email 4) In Live Mail use the Import Function 5) Select "Windows Mail" format 6) Select the directory such as C:\temp\email Give me a shout if you want help with this. A facebook fanpage can be very useful tool for marketing your product or service - its a friendly familair place for your customers to communicate with you and others who (hopefully) like you.
To get a vanity URL (www.facebook.com/yourproductname) you need to get 25 "likes" but then be very very careful Once you get to the point where you want to choose your fan page name be careful not to attach to your own personal account. Once its been used its been used and there seems to be no way back to attaching it to another page or account. This seems a bit inflexible of facebook but with millions of users I guess its understandable. If you need help with use of facebook pages do give me a call or drop me an email. I spend a lot of time working on email marketing projects - fighting with html code and images. In my experience simplicity is better and in fact less is so much more. Take a look at this example of an email from the Olympics ticketing bods. Almost guaranteed to reach your inbox and not one image! Richard Bacon on Radio 5 live has a weekly feature called the "moan in", where you can vent your spleen in a light hearted manner about things in modern life that get your goat. I sent an email about one of my pet hates... instant messenger etiquette. 5/10! pah You can listen to the excellent daily bacon podcasts at the bbc site |
